Ambassadors Committee

The Ambassador Committee promotes the Hillsboro Chamber at key events throughout the year. They act as greeters, reach out to new members and aid in membership efforts. Being an Ambassador involves a one year commitment to the Chamber and volunteer involvement in Chamber events. Business meetings are the last Tuesday of each month at noon in the Chamber Tech Center. Latino Advisory Council

The Latino Business Advisory Council (LBAC) represents small Latino businesses in the greater Hillsboro area as an advisory committee through outreach, education, marketing, and advocacy.  LBAC is a leadership body made of Latino businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders who are committed to providing exceptional resources to Latino businesses in order to promote the benefits of Hillsboro’s diverse culture and economy. Public Policy Committee

The mission of this Council shall be to provide a basis for the Hillsboro Chamber Board of Directors to take action on local, regional, state and federal government issues, thus creating a thriving business climate. The Council reviews proposed legislation and issues which may have ramifications for businesses. The evaluation shall also take into account prior Chamber positions adopted by its Board of Directors.

The council consists of 15 voting members representing different areas of expertise. Positions are open to all Chamber members in good standing. Voting status will not be granted to any current Chamber Board member, government employee, or any member employed by any political party or affiliation or any member running for or holding public office. Prospective members can apply for openings by notifying the Chamber office. Council members serve a 3-year term beginning January 1 each year. Small Business Council

Mission & Purpose:

The Chamber’s Small Business Council (SBC) serves as a voice of small businesses in the greater Hillsboro area. The SBC is an advisory committee to the Chamber’s leadership and the Mayor of the City of Hillsboro. The SBC provides educational, advocacy and economic development connections tailored to the needs of small business owners and managers. The SBC is committed to providing the best resources available in order to benefit your business, the Chamber and the community at large. All members of the Small Business Council are members of the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce.

Membership:

The SBC shall consist of 15 members serving 2-year terms beginning January 2013. At least 10 members of the SBC must be small business owners. Members of the SBC represent businesses of 50 or fewer employees. The Hillsboro Chamber Board of Directors will be responsible to appoint SBC members. Applications will be accepted annually in October for terms beginning on January 1.
